Emergency Care when surgery is closed

21/07/2017

Since the practice opened in December 2000, we have taken pride in being able to provide veterinary care to our patients 24 hours per day 365 days per year.  For many years now, the trend in veterinary practice has been to move out of hours emergency care to specialist Emergency Centres.  Until now we have maintained our own Out of Hours provision at our own practice but it is becoming increasingly difficult to employ and retain veterinary surgeons willing to take part in an Out of Hours service.  It is therefore with regret that I have inform you that as of 31st July 2017 we will no longer be able to provide our own Out of hours Emergency Service.   For clients seeking Emergency Care for their pets outside the normal working hours of Palmer & Duncan Vets Ltd we have arranged Emergency Care at either

Calder Vets, Saville Road, Dewsbury. WF12 9LN

Tel: 01924  465592

Or

Abbey House Veterinary Hospital, Commercial Street, Morley,

LS27 8AG.  Tel: 0113 252 5818

We will continue to provide a full In-Patient Care Service with a nurse on the premises 24/7 looking after your pets should they be admitted for ongoing care. A duty vet will also be available should they be required.

While we regret that we are unable to continue provide our own Out of Hours Service we believe it is a necessary action to protect the quality of care we provide at other times.
